When mama contacted me to inquire about her newborn session I was over the moon for her and her family. I have had the privilege of photographing her family several times from anything from a pregnancy announcement/ gender reveal session, a precious newborn photoshoot, AND OF COURSE the fun custom cake smash session! This one... this one was different though... her little rainbow, her promise, her little heart beat was coming in to see us! The entire family was "over the rainbow" about little Vic:) He carried a promise, and also his grandfather's name:) I can't tell you how it warmed my heart to watch them all interact and laugh and cuddle with each other:) FAMILY... what a treasure! Newborn Baby photos are best taken between 6 & 14 days old in our Portrait studio but we have been successful a little later than that:)
It is always best to contact us in your 2nd trimester or earlier but it is totally fine to reach out and see if we have availability after that point and even after delivery:)

What a surprise we received when we found out that each of our children had a baby on the way and were due just weeks from each other!
Days went by and bellies grew, as did our excitement as a family to have not one but TWO new babies to love and hold soon!
We were getting a granddaughter and Haley and her hubby were getting a grandson!!!
We were becoming grandparents at the same time!
skip ahead and it’s time for my daughter n law to deliver!!! We all rush to our places and wait so impatiently lol.
Can y’all believe that while we were at the birthing center waiting for our Little baby to be born, Haley and her crew were heading to the hospital in the same area because her grandson was ALSO arriving the soon?? Both babies were born early and on the SAME DAY! Only a few hours apart!
imagine the adrenaline rushing through those halls lol! We have spent the last almost 8 weeks soaking these babies in and loving life more than we could’ve ever imagined! Enjoy this small little glimpse into our pure joy and excitement!

Koah came in to see us today to celebrate his upcoming birthday!!! I remember Koah as a little bitty newborn fighter that came in almost a year ago to see us. At his newborn session he brought SO much love in with him, two of his grand parents came in with his mommy! Today for his cake smash session, he brought in even more family members, even his cousins came in to see him smash some cake! I adore how much love he has! Although Koah was not impressed with his cake, I thought it was SUPER cute! He LOVED his bubble bath though! Happy first birthday baby boy!

There are very few things that get me in my feels like the editing process of a newborn session... I think constantly and deeply about how long these photos will bring happiness to the hearts of the families that trust me to photograph their sweet little newborns as I'm sitting at my computer. Your baby will change SO quickly, their little features will start to disappear and be replaced with their big boy or big girl features.. and before you know it... a man or woman will stand before you......without your permission.. and at rate of speed that even the greatest of scholars can't explain... Our memory plays tricks on us and even though we try our VERY VERY hardest to remember everything... we just can't. It's no fault of our own... We are busy growing these little beings and enjoying EVERY single milestone that they reach. NOTHING preserves these little memories.. NOTHING does, like photographs and video.. we can try and try to store the memories of those little laughs and smiles, and toes, and wrinkles...and oh so much more in our little overworked brains, but it's just simply impossible... When I'm missing my sweet little babies, as mine are mostly grown now, I look back at my photographs and videos... and I'm SO thankful that I have them... I'm sorry if I've made ANYONE sad about this, it certainly isn't my intentions.. Just sharing a LITTLE bit of my "why" today :)

When big brother started posing I was like...YASSSSSSSSS lol Look how adorable they are! Ryan came to us as a sweet little newborn and didn't disappoint! He came back to see us again as a smiley 6 month old to celebrate... because y'all..... making your way through life and reaching milestones should certainly be celebrated!!!!! He is SUCH a happy baby! Every time I lifted my camera to photograph him he would let out this huge baby grin! My assistant and I kept saying how beautiful his eyes were! He especially tugged at the heartstrings of my assistant because he favors her son Ethan:)) we were SO excited to have had him back! I was SO fortunate to have photographed Sydney while she was still growing in her mommy's tummy and then again today! She did SUCH a good job at her session! She loved being posed and almost seemed to be helping me along as I went! Baby Tate meant he was gunna SMASH some cake to celebrate his very first birthday y'all!!! Usually, either my assistant or myself will handle the baby during a cake smash so mommy doesn't get too dirty, but Tate was having none of that! He LOVES that mommy! But when his Mommy told me that the boots belonged to Ty's
Paw Paw that had passed away last year I knew we had to do it! I absolutely Love the way it turned out but I also want to stress the importance of safety here.
Please please do not EVER put your baby, or allow anyone to put your baby,
inside or on top of anything where they will be in danger, this is a composite shot, meaning, this one image was "made up" of two images, one image of Paw Paw's boots and one of little Ty resting safely in his mommy's caring hands. I had the sweetest little WIDE awake baby girl come visit me in the studio this week, she was kind enough to let her big brother Noah come along for the shoot and even hop in a photo!! I won't lie to ya..... she kicked my butt! at almost 3 weeks old it's a little bit more of a challenge to get them to sleep or "pose" them. Needless to say she still did an amazing job looking completely gorgeous; just like her mommy who was busy making me the yummiest soup while I was hanging out with her baby girl!!! When I first sat out for a location for these two sweet brothers I was trying to find a "new" location. Okay so here goes:) We headed for the dentist early Monday morning, got there 15 minutes ahead of schedule, and sent my four back to get their normal cleanings and checkups... all smiles and no bad news from the dentist:))) The only thing she had to say was " Whew you are one brave lady bringing six kids in here today" I smiled and went on my way:) the rest of my morning was great, we stopped by to see my SIL and family and had a great visit:) 9 kids, ( if you include the one that was in the oven ;), and no injured kiddos or broken items when we left:) We headed for Aunt Ronda's to swap kiddos to help with the upcoming Alexis' Angel sale (April 6th) https://www.facebook.com/#!/alexisangelsale?fref=ts , leaving little Gracie to play with her cousins.
(And I still had FIVE kiddos). Still a great day, so I dropped one off and picked up another (still five;) head home for lunch. At 3 Faith had to go to her choir practice for our upcoming Destiny’s Woman conference at Praise Church (April 5th) https://www.facebook.com/#!/DestinysWoman?fref=ts , we get all ready and find out (while we were in route to the church) that we had the wrong time so we rerouted back to Aunt Ronda's to pick up my son and drop off two others lol, are yall still with me???????? When we arrived I realized that since Faith no longer had a prior commitment, she could stay to help paint:) so I then left Aunt Ronda's with three little ones in tow and returned later that day to exchange kiddos!!!!!!!! I'm pooped and I'm not even close to the climatic events yet lol:) After I left we went home and waited till it was time to go to my son’s baseball game that I had to be at for 5........ So I give my normal speech..... Reece do you have this, that, and this ready? His reply was "yes mam, my bag is with Daddy he told me to leave it in his truck" Okay let’s go then...... TRAFFIC...... Then I'm heading down the road at 45mph crossing over Airline Hwy and slowing down because I know that the speed limit reduces drastically to 25mph immediately after passing through the intersection right????? Well guess what was waiting for me almost immediately after the intersection????? SPEED TRAP...... I calmly tell the officer in training my side of things when he asked for my license, I give him my paper work and tell him that I'm waiting for my new ins card to come in and he says "oh no worries I don't care about all that other stuff , Honestly I'm just here to write speeding tickets........." I put my head down and bit my tongue till nearly bleeding...... Get to the ball park Reece jumps out of the car, heads to his daddy and Rusty says “tell me you have your bag......... (Yall know the one I'm talking about right??? The one his Daddy told him to keep in his truck so it wouldn't get left behind......THAT ONE........ I head back to the car screaming “that’ll be two speeding tickets" ;) All the while, Daddy to one of the children I was babysitting was on his way to the park that I was leaving from........ Okay so off I go..... I get the bag and head back........ I get approx. 500' from TWO gas station and RUN OUT OF GAS IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC.......... I get out of the car and begin pushing my huge bus of a vehicle by myself while 500 men my husband’s age or younger FLY by me right..... Guess who stops....... An elderly man with a bad back..... He refuses to let me push while he steers the vehicle (Faith about fainted when I asked her to steer....) thankfully a younger black man stopped to help right after that....... I wish I could've taken a pic of the three ppl pushing my vehicle...... just for all the stereotypical ppl in America....... a 14 year old GIRL, an old man with a bad back ,and a big black dude ( please excuse the reference) to all you "gentlemen", and I use the word gentlemen very lightly, I'd like to say " no worries, if my husband or myself for that matter ever see your wives, sisters, moms, dads, paw paws, daughters, sons, or maw maws stranded....... we will gladly help them while you sit on your sofas eating bon bons and watching t.v." SORRY THAT HAD TO BE SAID, I was so upset by that....... Oh and let me say thank you to all the Moms and Dads who took time to raise the few gentlemen we have left here........... a few other things happened in between all these events ( seriously, you can't make this kinda stuff up), When I laid my head down last night my pillow never felt so good!!!! Here's to better days!!!!
